Socialatom Ventures is Colombia's hot new Incubator!!!!!!!

Colombia is getting a new incubator called Socialatom Ventures, startup mentor and entrepreneur Alan Colmenares announced on his blog, Tropical Gringo. It will be one of the three ‘consolidation’ incubators to be supported by the Colombian government, he adds.

This support is actually part of Colombia’s Vive Digital initiative, itself promoted by Apps.co. As you may know, it was designed by Colombia’s Ministry of ICT (MinTIC) to promote digital entrepreneurship in the country.

In addition to seed capital, Socialatom Ventures will also offer its teams a shared office space in Bogotá. It is worth noting that the selection process is about to start, and will be open to applications from all over Colombia, or even from other countries.

According to its website, the incubator will base its choice on the following criteria:

  1. A team able to execute must be comprised of at least two co-founders
  2. At least one of the co-founders should be technical (enough to hack something together and get started)
  3. Your team should have a product or prototyped finished
  4. Your product or prototype should have (at least some) users.
  5. The problem you are trying to solve should be your own
